The Airport Security Manager serves as the primary Airport Security Coordinator, overseeing the daily security operations at Westchester County Airport (HPN). This role manages all aspects of the Airport Security Program (ASP), ensuring compliance with TSA security directives and effectively communicating changes in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) threat assessment levels. The position reports to the Deputy Airport Manager – Operations.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned aviation professional with a four-year college degree and at least five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and expertise. They bring proven management capabilities, strong knowledge of airport security systems and operations, and hands-on experience in airport or general aviation security, including snow and ice control and aircraft rescue and firefighting responsibilities. This individual excels at both internal and external communications—written and verbal—and is adept at fostering collaboration, ensuring compliance, and maintaining operational excellence in a dynamic airport environment.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring oversight and compliance with all requirements under the Airport Security Program (ASP);
• Managing the security access control systems, access ID card distribution, and record-keeping;
• Managing all airport-controlled CCTV camera system functions, including service maintenance, design and construction oversight, and camera recording;
• Managing the Airport security ID system, which includes criminal history record checks, other background checks as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations, ID card issuance, and associated ID equipment maintenance;
• Overseeing airport tenant security plans, procedures, and overall compliance with security regulations;
• Representing the Airport at internal and external security meetings;
• Recommending, developing, and implementing policies affecting security activities;
• Coordinating and overseeing contractor training and airport access procedures in accordance with the ASP;
• Preparing and developing timely updates to the ASP as approved by the TSA;
• Managing the Airport lock and key control system, Airport vehicle permit issuance, and all Airport security training responsibilities; 
• Responding to all Airport emergencies and Irregular Operations (IROPS);
• Working effectively with partner agencies and businesses including, but not limited to, Westchester County Department of Public Safety, TSA, CBP, FAA, FBI, and/or Airport tenants on all matters related to Airport Security;
• Preparing and managing the security capital and operating budgets
