The IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in providing professional, respectful, and efficient frontline support to Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative (CCEC) employees and end users. The core focus is on active listening, ensuring requests are acknowledged and logged as tickets, and routed to the appropriate resources for resolution. In addition to providing technical support, the role involves configuring, installing, and maintaining enterprise devices, supporting security protocols, and ensuring that systems remain reliable and compliant with IT governance standards.
This role is instrumental in promoting user confidence and security, offering training and guidance to empower employees to use technology effectively and safely. By actively contributing to the overall success of IT operations, the IT Support Specialist ensures seamless and secure user experiences while fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and service excellence.

Act as the first line of support for all end-user technology requests and trouble tickets in person and remotely, ensuring issues are addressed promptly, respectfully, and with a solutions-focused approach that supports organizational productivity and user confidence.
Support the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of software, hardware, and electronic resources used across CCEC, and as necessary, Beacon Broadband (BBI). Responsibilities include site visits and hands-on technical work to configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of devices, including Windows devices, Mobile devices, VOIP phones, teleconferencing systems, multifunction printers, and peripherals all performed with attention to reliability and security.
Apply sound judgment and initiative within the framework of CCEC’s policies and procedures to solve technical issues.
Engage thoughtfully with end users to understand business needs and provide effective, tailored technology solutions.
Deliver technical training and one-on-one support to employees, managers, and board members, helping users confidently and securely navigate the tools necessary for their roles.
Contribute to the support and functionality of CCEC’s communication and network infrastructure, including wired, wireless, and fiber systems, by assisting with ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure connectivity and performance across all locations. This will often be accomplished utilizing third party networking support.
Escalate and coordinate advanced technical issues as needed, working in partnership with internal team members and external vendors to drive resolution and minimize disruptions.
Provide after-hours support and emergency response availability for critical IT needs, system maintenance, and unexpected outages to maintain operational continuity.
Support CCEC’s Information Security Plan by helping enforce data protection standards, system access controls, and security best practices designed to reduce risk and safeguard Cooperative resources.
Assist with asset management by helping track and secure IT inventory. Contribute to planning and procurement processes to ensure resource availability aligns with both current and future needs.
Engage in continual learning to stay current with changes in supported technologies. Participate in ongoing training to strengthen technical capabilities and adapt to evolving tools, platforms, and user expectations.
Stays connected with company sponsored community involvement programs and assists as needed.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role with occasional handling of office materials or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative operates on a four/ten work schedule. This position has on-call duties: occasional after hours and/or weekend work will be required.
Travel
Ability to travel regularly to the different district offices required. Occasional travel to training seminars and/or conferences.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field preferred.
Minimum three years of related professional experience required.
COMPTIA A+, Network +, Security +, or equivalent preferred.
Valid Oregon driver’s license and insurability.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Reliable transportation for getting to work.
Must live within 60 miles of work location.
Must meet the requirements of pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol policy while employed.
