We are seeking a highly experienced CONTRACT Risk Management Consultant with specialized expertise in construction-related insurance to play a pivotal role in safeguarding a prominent public-sector agency’s complex infrastructure portfolio. This contract opportunity presents an opportunity to influence high-stakes decision-making, collaborate with senior leadership and external partners, and contribute to significant public projects.
What You’ll Do:
Lead Strategic Insurance Initiatives: Drive insurance placement, renewal negotiations, and broker relationships across property, liability, and construction insurance programs to ensure optimal coverage and value.
Influence Leadership & Stakeholders: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and guidance while maintaining strong relationships with insurers, brokers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
Manage Major Claims & Recovery Strategies: Oversee insurance recovery efforts for significant losses, ensuring timely and effective responses to high-impact incidents.
Ensure Policy & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to agency policies, public procurement regulations, and industry standards, safeguarding the organization’s interests.
Develop Risk Financing & Contracting Frameworks: Assist in crafting innovative risk transfer strategies, supporting procurement processes, and reviewing complex contractual arrangements—especially those related to construction and public-private partnerships.
Enhance Data & Systems Management: Optimize systems for tracking insurance policies, claims, and compliance metrics; support underwriting processes with detailed data analysis.
Mentor & Develop Team Members: Share expertise with junior analysts, explaining coverage nuances and risk frameworks clearly to foster professional growth.
Who You Are:
Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, or a related field, with 8+ years in commercial risk management—particularly in construction insurance and complex contract negotiations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and RMIS platforms such as Riskonnect; strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—able to distill complex risk concepts for diverse audiences and collaborate effectively across teams.
Certifications (Preferred): ARM, CPCU, CRM, or other relevant industry certifications demonstrate your commitment to professional excellence.
Additional Experience: Familiarity with working within or for public agencies, as well as knowledge of alternative risk finance solutions such as captives and loss control strategies, is highly advantageous.
