About CECH-IT
The College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services and Information Technology (CECH-IT) is dedicated to making a difference in our communities through outreach, academic programs, and community partnerships. Our students and faculty work side-by-side with educators, athletic directors, community wellness experts, cybersecurity analysts, and local, state and federal law enforcement officials. Job Overview
The School of Education within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH-IT) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for an Assistant Professor-Educator (non-tenure-track). Primary responsibilities will reside in the Special Education program. This role includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses?both face-to-face and online?and supervising student teachers in K?12 settings. The successful candidate will also actively participate in program and faculty governance. The position is expected to begin August 15, 2026.
This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
Essential Functions
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education, delivered both in person and online (synchronous and asynchronous).
Supervise student teachers in K?12 field placements, providing mentorship, evaluation, and constructive feedback.
Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Engage in service activities at the department, college, and university level.
Required Education
Prior to the effective date of appointment, the following are required:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Special Education or a closely related field, conferred by start date.
Required Experience
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential significant contributions to the department, University of Cincinnati, and wider scholarly community.
Three years of K?12 teaching experience in Special Education.
Preferred Qualifications Considered
Previous experience teaching at the college or university level.
Experience supervising pre-service teachers or student interns.
Familiarity with inclusive practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.
