The Los Angeles Chapter of ISACA® is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the continued development and enhancement of the information systems audit, security and risk management profession by providing benefits to its members and to the professional community-at-large. The Los Angeles Chapter is the founding chapter of ISACA® (formerly EDPAA) with about 1500 members.
The Los Angeles chapter is looking for a part-time Event Project Coordinator and Administrator to support our chapter events. This role is important for coordinating activities to ensure the successful delivery of both in-person and virtual events.
Executing at the highest level, the chapter event project coordinator ensures all touch points and experiences our leaders, members and strategic partners receive exemplifies our mission and core values.
An ideal candidate is responsible, efficient, and a clear communicator. They are organized, systematic, and process-oriented with strong project management skills. Highly self-motivated and a self-starter, they have strong follow-through and are trustworthy and resourceful. They can find ways to make things happen and are friendly and professional, with experience in handling the ebbs and flows of event activities. This person enjoys event planning and project management. This opportunity is mostly remote with onsite support of events as needed.
Duties can include the following (not an exhaustive list):
Organizing and supporting events: Obtain and follow up on event and speaker data.
Periodic onsite event support: Provide meeting setup and registration assistance as needed.
Project management for the events: Coordinate planning meetings, provide updates, and track action items to ensure successful delivery.
Support Subcommittees: Support actions related to the events, such as sponsorship, programs, volunteers, and marketing.
Content writing and editing: Assist in creating and editing event promotion communications.
Event communication: Address member inquiries or direct them to the appropriate chapter leader.
Creating content and promoting events on social media: Develop engaging content and leverage social media platforms to promote events, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.
Membership engagement: Actively engage with members to encourage participation in events and activities.
Budget management assistance: Assist with monitoring and managing the budget for events, ensuring expenses are tracked and within the allocated budget.
Evaluation and reporting: Collect feedback from event attendees and volunteers to evaluate the success of events and prepare reports to share insights and recommendations with chapter leaders and board members.
Executing other projects and duties: Follow directions from committee leaders and board officers.
Qualifications:
Experience in event planning and coordination: Proven experience in organizing and managing events, preferably within a non-profit or professional association setting.
Strong project management skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with members, vendors, and stakeholders.
Organizational skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage logistics and ensure smooth event execution.
Social media and marketing skills: Ability to create engaging content and promote events on social media platforms to maximize visibility and engagement.
Problem-solving skills: Resourceful and able to find solutions to challenges that arise during event planning and execution.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring that every aspect of the event is meticulously planned and executed is vital. This includes monitoring processes, verifying details, and maintaining accurate records
Team player: Ability to work collaboratively with committee leaders, board officers, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and handle the ebbs and flows of event activities.
Customer service experience: Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries professionally.
Willingness to learn event management software: Interest to learn tools and software used for event planning, registration, and communication.
Ability to work independently and productively: Self-motivated, has good decision-making skills and able to complete tasks efficiently without constant supervision or escalate to leadership as required.
Willingness to work flexible hours: Availability to work during evenings and weekends as needed, especially for event-based support.
Increasing support and hours commitment: Ability to commit more time and effort as required, including onsite support

Qualifications:
Customer service experience.
Project management and/or event management experience is desired.

Must be willing to work flexible hours since most of the support is event-based; most of the work is remote (work from home) unless onsite support is required for a physical event; may include some evenings and weekends
