Position Summary
This position requires the incumbent to provide administrative and logistical support to the Stony Brook Medicine Technology Services Department. This position is essential to ensure efficient operation of the IT Technology Services Group. The Operational Support Assistant will be part of a group responsible for the logistics, including ordering, tracking and payment of equipment used to support Stony Brook Medicine. Must be extremely organized and able to multitask.
Duties of the Operational Support Assistant may include the following but are not limited to:
- Receive, unload, and organize newly arrived and returned equipment following safety standards
- Organize incoming PO orders and route to appropriate location/Technician in a timely manner
- Process warranty and returns to SBMIT vendors
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research shipments in accordance with our inventory control processes
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized stockroom to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Provide general support to the warehouse as needed
- Assist with Audits and produce/create reports as requested
- Driving of company-owned vehicles between locations
- This position will require lifting/moving stock up to 50 Lbs, standing for long durations, kneeling, bending and other general movements typical for working in a warehouse. The use of a warehouse equipment such as a ladder / pallet jack may also be required.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and at least 1 year of logistics and fulfillment experience or, in lieu of a degree, a High School diploma and at least 3 years of logistics and fulfillment experience
- Valid and current NY Driver License
- Familiarity with inventory tracking software
- Expert experience in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely detail oriented and strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree
- 5+ years of inventory and procurement experience
- Logistics and fulfillment experience in a NY State organization
- 1+ years of healthcare experience in a a healthcare or hospital environment
- 1+ years of experience with TDX (Team Dynamix) service desk software

- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $48,342 - $59,303 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
- Location pay for UUP full-time positions ($3400)
