The Development and Governance Specialist is responsible for providing excellent and energetic fundraising support for the NC CPA Foundation and NC CPA Political Action Committee (PAC). This position also provides operational, administrative, and logistical support for the association's governance activities, including Technical, Market, and Association-wide Resource Groups. Additionally, the Specialist will assist with budget development and management while collaborating with internal stakeholders to address the needs of key constituencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Fundraising & Development
Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support the NC CPA Foundation and NC CPA PAC.
Identify and cultivate a portfolio of investor relationships, including individuals, firms, and corporate sponsors.
Manage investor recognition and stewardship programs to enhance engagement and retention.
Oversee fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, special events, and digital investing initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to fundraising and political contributions.
Maintain accurate investor records and produce reports on fundraising performance using CRM software.
Governance Support
Provide administrative and logistical support for the association’s governance activities, including the Board of Directors, Resource Groups, Networking Groups, and ad hoc committees or task forces.
Assist in organizing meetings, maintaining governance records, and ensuring compliance with governance policies.
Support communication and engagement efforts for governance groups to enhance member participation.
Financial & Budget Management
Assist in the development and management of budgets for assigned areas.
Monitor and report on financial performance related to fundraising and governance activities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial efficiency and resource allocation aligns with organizational priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Collaborate with internal teams to understand the needs of key constituencies, develop relevant solutions, and deliver world-class customer service.
Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote fundraising initiatives and governance activities.
Represent the organization at events and meetings to foster relationships and support strategic initiatives.
DEMONSTRATED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public policy, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, governance support, or nonprofit management.
Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of nonprofit governance structures and fundraising regulations preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
