Under limited supervision of the Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs, the Director of Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance leads the planning, organization, and management of the risk program for the Allegheny County Airport Authority. This role identifies and assesses risks across operations, reports findings to senior management, and implements strategies for managing insurable and hazard risks. Responsibilities include directing insurance purchases, managing policy renewals, reviewing contract insurance language, and overseeing loss control and claims management.The Director collaborates with insurance consultants, attorneys, brokers, and claims adjusters, exercising independent judgment on technical insurance matters.
Key duties include coordinating annual insurance renewals, evaluating risks, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, managing contractor insurance certificates, supporting organizational risk goals, monitoring claims, maintaining property inventories, and providing risk guidance for events. Additionally, the Director develops employee risk training, coordinates with regulatory agencies, and manages the risk management budget to safeguard the Authority’s assets and operations.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year degree-granting college or university. Five (5) years of experience in risk management, development of insurance portfolios, evaluation of insurance needs, risk and loss control, safety, risk reduction, or an equivalent combination of experience.
Oral and written communication skills are required.
Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license. Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.
