Union Power Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Network and Cybersecurity Administrator who will oversee the organization's cybersecurity and network operations and provide support to the users of Union Power Cooperative's information services network resources while continuously remaining focused on the Cooperative's Mission and Vision Statements, and the promotion of the Cooperative's Guiding Values.

Essential Duties of the Position:

1. Provides support for internal and external users of all network resources and systems.
2. Maintains all networks including LAN, WLAN, VLANs, datacenter infrastructure and associated equipment to insure high availability and efficient operations.
3. Maintains and audits network resources by evaluating throughput, utilization, latency, and availability using appropriate methods and tools.
4. Implement and maintain appropriate security controls for all network resources through configuring and maintaining firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and IPS/IDS hardware and software.
5. Keeps informed on current security trends/threats and makes recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities and minimize security risks.
6. Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests on all networks and systems and coordinate cybersecurity assessments with approved third party vendors.
7. Oversees and maintains cybersecurity defenses and applications such as next gen firewalls, IPS/IDS/NIPS, and EDR/XDR technologies.
8. Evaluates current and potential networking and cybersecurity vendors and assists in making decisions on which vendors to utilize.
9. Maintains physical security controls and systems such as cameras and door access.
10. Provides Help Desk and basic System Admin backup support for internal and external users of all information systems.
11. Helps maintain and inventory networking hardware and software components of current and future networking resources.
12. Assists with development and implementation of information security policies and procedures leveraging best practices and industry standards.
13. Assists with ongoing strategic projects and plans such as Disaster Recovery and Cybersecurity Incident Response.
14. Assists with and performs other duties as assigned.

Work Qualifications:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
2. Associate's degree in Information Systems, Technology or related field required (existing or progress toward certifications may be substituted for the associate's degree depending on time frame, experience and type of certification).
3. A minimum of five years' experience in network administration and cybersecurity required.
4. CCNA, and/or CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certifications preferred.
5. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
6. Must have proficient knowledge of WAN, LAN and WLAN applications and architecture and be familiar with the OSI model.
7. Must be familiar with NIST and CIS Controls Cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
8. Must be able to install, configure and maintain Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and wireless access points and secure all network resources.
9. Must be able to install, configure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls and IPS systems.
10. Must be able to work in a supportive role to help install and upgrade server and network hardware and software.
11. Must be able to troubleshoot server and network hardware related issues and perform server and network device hardware upgrades.
12. Must be able to support and maintain all public facing internet systems and services. Must interact and assist users experiencing problems related to business networking systems.
13. Must be goal oriented and able to operate under time constraints performing multiple tasks associated with all systems in the Information Services Department.
14. Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
15. Must be available after normal business hours and/or on weekends to support any issues related to our server hardware and software or other business systems used by any department in the organization including participating in a rotating weekend/after-hours on-call schedule.
