We are currently seeking a strategic and dynamic individual to serve as the Director of Information Technology. This is a twelve month, exempt position.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the Information Technology Department, including the Network Administrator, Technology Support Specialist, and Database Manager.
Oversee all school-wide technology, including the 1:1 laptop program.
Develop, update, and enforce technology policies and procedures related to legal, ethical, and effective use of technology by students, faculty, and staff.
Stay current with trends, research, applications, and best practices in educational technology, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
Identify training needs and coordinate faculty and staff development programs to support the use of new tools and platforms. Coordinate with the Director of Educational Technology to provide training and tools for students and teachers.
Assist with onboarding during New Faculty Orientation and New Student Orientation.
Participate in the leadership team, and other groups as needed.
Oversee school-wide applications and information systems used by faculty, staff, and students.
Manage the annual technology budget (including, securing E-rate funding for appropriate purchases), technology assets, and inventory systems.
Keep track of technology expenses and purchases throughout the year.
Negotiate and maintain service contracts with software and technology vendors as needed.
Be the principal purchaser for approved items in the technology budget.
Develop and implement a strategic technology plan aligned with the school’s mission, academic goals, and institutional priorities.
Hold regular department meetings to provide opportunities for team members to (1) share work updates with the rest of the team and to (2) share knowledge of technology or troubleshooting tips which would benefit the team.
Supervise the ordering, acquisition, inventory, implementation, and recycling of hardware and software.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President, High School or Middle School Principals.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of related experience, including PC and Mac support, systems and network administration, and IT leadership.
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Experience with educational technologies, including implementation and user training.
Documented work experience with Apple and Microsoft Windows environments, including Microsoft 365 and other applications associated with K-12 education such as Google Workspace. Knowledge of the Blackbaud Student Information Systems, Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Excel (expert level).
Proficient with Mac OS environments, wired and wireless networking, and Cisco/Meraki infrastructure.
Experience with Jamf or similar MDM systems.
Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education and Blackbaud systems preferred.
