IT Technician
Position OverviewThe IT Installation & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, service provisioning, and maintenance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems for the University of Kansas Lawrence and Edwards campuses. Work often involves accessing confined spaces, climbing ladders, working aloft, and operating on catwalks to install new cable/fiber. While all work must adhere to a master plan and established standards, technicians are afforded the discretion to deviate when needed to ensure operability.This role allows for considerable autonomy. Assignments are generally framed around goals or problems to resolve, often with undefined initial conditions. Technicians are expected to apply sound judgment in selecting method
