The Data Governance Architect is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy, consistency, security, and regulatory compliance of UCSF's data. This role involves implementing and upholding data governance policies, technologies, and support structures; managing data quality; and supporting data stewardship throughout the organization. The Data Governance Architect collaborates closely with various business units, IT teams, and data owners to advocate for best practices in data management and enhance the effective use of data for decision-making and reporting.
- Execute the vision of the data governance program using appropriate technology, advocating for governance roles, and enforcing policies while adhering to best practices in data governance.
- Provide oversight and support for Data Governance to ensure organizational awareness and guide decisions regarding data standards and policies.
- Develop and enforce processes, policies, and standards for data management, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulations and requirements.
- Communicate Data Governance policies to all relevant stakeholders and design and maintain a training curriculum for data consumers on governance standards, policies, and compliance.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business units to address their analytical needs while ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Promote and educate the organization on data governance policies and practices.
- Establish the necessary organizational support structure to advance and sustain the Data Governance program.
- Design and oversee the processes, policies, and standards for managing data, ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements.
- Develop and implement standards and practices for data quality, security, stewardship, accountability, and ownership across the enterprise, maintaining data definitions and quality standards for reliable insights.
- Mentor junior Data Governance Analysts.
- Develop and maintain business glossaries, data catalogs, data lineage, data profiles, metadata, and reference and master data management.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations on products, tools, services, protocols, and standards to support the enterprise data governance strategy.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $129,600 - $303,800 (Annual Rate).
