Job Overview

The Coordinator for the Lab for Globalization and Shared Prosperity, is initially a 1-year term position in the Department of Government at Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences. The Coordinator will support the collaborative project between the Lab for Globalization and Shared Prosperity and the Healthcare Regulatory Research Institute. This project involves the creation of a comprehensive dataset on the healthcare labor force and access to healthcare in the U.S., as well as a subsequent analysis of the impact of global trade on these variables. The Coordinator should have a strong knowledge of microeconomics, international trade and related fields such as labor, industrial organization, and political economy. The Coordinator should have experience with coding, the management of large databases, and data visualization. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

• Collect and clean data to construct a robust dataset on the healthcare labor force and healthcare supply and demand
  
• Composing literature reviews on research related to healthcare deserts, senior healthcare, and other health-related topics
  
• Create data visualizations of the data and run various models to analyze effects
  
• Contribute to written reports created to disseminate findings
  
• Manage a team of RAs to ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner
  

Work Interactions

The position with the Lab furthers GU's mission to promote social justice. The Coordinator will report directly to Professor Rudra and oversee the technical work undertaken by research assistants hired by the Lab.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; At least one year of work experiences is preferred but not required.
  
• Creative, flexible, adaptable, and open to engaging in iterative and co-constructed research with others
  
• Excellent data collection, analysis and synthesis, and writing skills, and ability to work interpedently and in teams in the research process
  
• Must have capacity to connect details and data and bring them to a larger conversation and help make data and research understandable to decisionmaker and policymaker audiences, and responsive to their needs and contexts Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  
• Works well under multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  
• Has strong professional judgement and cultural-capacity in working with working with diverse groups of practitioners, researchers, and policy makers from multiple country contexts, including those with high-level roles

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
