About the Role
We are seeking to contract a Regulatory AI Auditor with an AAIA (Accredited AI Internal Auditor) designation to join our compliance and oversight team. This role is critical in ensuring that insurance carriers operating in Delaware comply with Bulletin No. 148 issued by the Delaware Department of Insurance, which governs the responsible use of AI systems in underwriting, pricing, claims, and fraud detection.
Key Responsibilities
Audit and assess insurers’ AI System (AIS) Programs for regulatory compliance.
Review governance structures, accountability frameworks, and documentation of AI use.
Evaluate risk management protocols including bias detection, model drift, and data integrity.
Conduct audits of third-party AI systems and ensure contractual audit rights.
Support regulatory financial and market conduct examinations
Ensure compliance with Delaware’s Unfair Trade Practices Act, Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act, and rate-making laws.
Stay current with evolving AI regulations and best practices (e.g., NIST AI RMF, NAIC AI Principles).
Qualifications
AAIA Certification – required.
3+ years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or AI governance.
Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive modeling, and data governance.
Familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks and ethical AI principles.
Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with insurance operations and actuarial models.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC AI standards and model validation techniques.
Background in cybersecurity or data privacy is a plus.
