Description: Under general supervision, leads work of assigned security officers and performs regular security officer duties for assigned areas. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. 1. Performs security officer duties and leads work of assigned security officers. 2. Patrols assigned areas to check for criminal activity, rule violations, and irregularities. 3. Investigates and reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to campus police unit as needed. 4. Coordinates and monitors work activities of field Security Officers at particular locations. 5. Monitors shift activity and makes recommendations for adjustments in shift assignments as needed. 6. Trains new security officers or other personnel and provides on-going work leadership. 7. Performs other job-related duties assigned. MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Requires a minimum of three (3) years directly job-related experience Additional Posting Information: Requires a High School Diploma or GED. No experience is required. Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License. Must be able to work nights, weekends and overtime assignments. Must be proficient with using a computer and Microsoft office suite. Must pass a Criminal History and valid TX Driver’s License check prior to an interview. Must pass Background Investigation prior to employment. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
