Do Great Things! The Instructor/Coordinator, Cybersecurity Programs, is responsible for teaching credit and non-credit courses within the Information Technology pathway, as well as performing administrative duties to ensure the effective operation of the Cybersecurity, Cloud, Support, and Network Management programs. This role combines curriculum delivery with program coordination, including scheduling, faculty support, and ongoing program evaluation. The individual will work closely with the Assistant Dean and faculty to develop and maintain academic schedules, program resources, and ensure program compliance with accreditation and other external requirements. Teaching and Instructional Responsibilities:
Teach a combination of credit and non-credit courses in the Cybersecurity, Cloud, Support, and Network Management programs, up to 12-15 contact hours per week.
Prepare course syllabi, objectives, and instructional materials in line with curriculum standards.
Deliver high-quality instruction in various formats, including in-person, online, and hybrid models.
Assess and grade student performance, providing timely feedback on assignments, projects, and exams.
Develop and update course content as necessary, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and best practices.
Use innovative teaching techniques and educational technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Administrative and Program Coordination Responsibilities:
Coordinate the scheduling of courses for the Cybersecurity, Cloud, Support, and Network Management programs, ensuring that class schedules meet student demand and academic requirements.
Aid the Assistant Dean in managing course offerings, class rosters, and faculty assignments each semester.
Work with faculty and staff to ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum and adherence to program goals.
Maintain program records, including student enrollment, grade reports, and attendance records, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
Collaborate with faculty to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for program improvement.
Develop and monitor budgets for the programs and assist in purchasing necessary equipment and materials.
Student Support and Advising:
Advise students on academic progress, course selection, and career pathways within the Cybersecurity and IT fields.
Maintain regular office hours and offer support to students during registration periods.
Provide guidance on job placement, internships, and industry certifications.
Program Development and Compliance:
Work with the Assistant Dean to review program curricula, ensuring alignment with accreditation requirements, industry standards, and emerging trends in the IT sector.
Assist in preparing program reports for accreditation bodies, government agencies, and internal evaluations.
Ensure that the program meets the needs of the local community and industry by fostering relationships with local businesses and IT professionals.
Other Administrative Duties:
Serve as a liaison between the program, the department, and external stakeholders, representing the program in college-wide meetings and events.
Assist with student recruitment efforts, including outreach to high schools, community organizations, and prospective students.
Attend faculty meetings, departmental workshops, and professional development conferences.
Assume other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean, or Dean.
Associate degree and cybersecurity or network certifications.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
