The Opportunity:
The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University (WSU) invites candidates to apply for our IT Support Technician.
You will provide essential technical support to faculty, staff, and students within the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. You will be serving as the first point of contact for IT-related inquiries. In this position you will be responsible for independently diagnosing and resolving basic hardware, software, and peripheral issues. Key duties include maintaining and updating computers and related systems across staff, faculty, and instructional labs; assisting IT professionals in providing hardware and application support for day-to-day operations; supporting video and audio needs for meetings and classroom presentations; and performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting. You will also lead student employees on daily tasks and projects, manage the IT Help Desk ticketing system, and maintain the inventory tracking system for computing and software assets. Additional responsibilities include assisting with software review and acquisition processes to ensure effective and up-to-date IT operations throughout the college.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtimeeligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,643 to $4,865 | Range 42 Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and twelve (12) months of experience resolving customer issues OR equivalent education/experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of current computer hardware, operating systems and software.
Demonstrated knowledge of system restore and recovery software.
Demonstrated knowledge of help desk ticketing systems.
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Products and Microsoft 365.
