Under the supervision of the Manager of IT and Broadband Services, the IT Data Analyst supports the cooperative's mission of providing reliable, affordable electric service by transforming data into actionable insights that improve operations, member services, and system reliability. This role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and reporting data from across the cooperative’s IT systems, including outage management, SCADA, GIS, AMI, and member information systems (CIS).
Primary Duties:
Analyze data from operational systems (e.g., AMI, OMS, GIS, SCADA) to support reliability, outage response, asset management, and engineering decision-making.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports for internal teams using tools like NISC Mosaic, Power BI or Tableau.
Work closely with engineering, operations, and member services to identify and prioritize data and reporting requirements.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data across various platforms while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Support integration between legacy systems and new platforms, including enterprise software upgrades or conversions.
Monitor data quality, ensure integrity, and implement data validation and cleansing processes.
Document data workflows, business rules, and reporting processes in compliance with cooperative standards and industry regulations.
Provide ad hoc reporting and data analysis for special projects, regulatory filings, and board presentations.
Stay informed about industry data trends, especially those related to smart grid technologies, DER (distributed energy resources), and member engagement tools.

General Duties:
Establishes and maintains an effective professional working relationship with co-workers and all necessary levels of management.
Always maintains a professional image and standards of professional conduct while working in the public, representing the Cooperative and/or conducting business on behalf of the Cooperative.
Plans, schedules and coordinates tasks, events and activities with Manager of IT and Broadband Services to assure that all work is completed within the necessary allocated time.
Develops, maintains and executes a calendar and schedule of activities. Communicates and coordinates such activities with Manager of IT and Broadband Services and all other necessary employees and/or necessary levels of management.
Makes his/herself available to answer phone calls, and or provide general assistance power outages.
Maintains a safe working environment.
Protects and maintains member confidence by safeguarding member and employee information.
Provides service to members and fellow employees by answering questions, helping and performing other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND JOB KNOWLEDGE: Two to five years of experience as a data analyst, preferably in the utility or energy sector. Experience with electric utility data systems such as NISC, Milsoft, Survalent, ESRI GIS, or similar platforms preferred, understanding of emerging technologies such as AMI analytics, DER integration, or demand response is helpful. Experience with Python, R, or other data scripting languages is also helpful.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer. Must possess experience and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be proficient with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Must have a strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and data integration, and preferred familiarity with utility operations, including outage response, metering, and member service processes. Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines. Must have a working knowledge of data governance and cybersecurity best practices.
